During his National Day speech, Ambassador Al Otaiba noted that even though Americans and Emiratis are culturally different, from their countries’ historical backgrounds to current political systems, they do share common values and interests. It is these commonalities that have given rise to the United in Security, United in Prosperity and United in Outlook ventures that are further highlighted on the United for a Better Future website.
One example of the United in Outlook projects that has been a great success is the Community Soccer Program. The UAE Embassy, under the direction of Ambassador Al Otaiba, is working with local communities in seven major cities to provide or improve playing fields for children in underserved communities. This program has been run in conjunction with local partners in those communities.
The US exported over $24 billion of goods to the UAE in 2013, making the UAE the largest export market for the US in the Middle East.
